I’m Amy Stout (she/they), a prelicensed professional counselor who takes a holistic, integrative approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based and experiential modalities to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I’ve received training in several approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Feminist Theory. I view therapy as a collaborative process grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect, and I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.
I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodiverse adults, and those navigating trauma, discrimination, or life transitions. As a neurodiverse adult myself, I’m passionate about helping clients understand their strengths, build supportive systems, and explore how intersecting identities shape their lived experiences in an affirming, confidential space.
I’m accepting new clients who are Illinois residents. I work with preteens, teens, adults, elders, couples, individuals, and families, and I believe finding the right therapeutic fit is essential. I offer telehealth and in-person sessions, flexible scheduling on weeknights and weekends, and sliding scale rates based on income.
